Maine Trip
It has been ages since I blogged!
Earlier this month I had a wonderful trip to Maine with my son, Philip. We visited many beloved relatives and friends, saw some lovely sights and enjoyed being refreshed by the loving environment and salt air!
Oh, and we took pictures : ) I am enclosing some panos and other faves.
Have a wonderful holiday season!

Aspinwall Railway
Every day when I go to work at my part time
job at First Street and Brilliant Avenue in Aspinwall, PA, I pass under and
over the Aspinwall Railway. Some of you who are Facebook friends may be
familiar with my train photos - I have photographed graffiti art on trains and
train cars carrying fluids as I wait (mostly patiently) for trains to pass.
As a photographer who loves distressed
items, I have been intrigued by the train bridge above the ground level rails and the walls that
support it. I also love the nature that grows on these walls, not allowing anything to get in
its way.
I am always open for new opportunities to photograph what you would like to see on this blog or on your walls. Thanks for looking and enjoy the late spring weather!

Country Market

Amish Rockers

Roadside View

Amish Made
Last weekend on the way to Fallingwater, the Resslers and I stopped at a country market to photograph the wonderful signs, which spoke to us from the road. When we entered the market, we were not allowed to photograph, so I am not able to show you the antiques, Amish rockers and foods. I can tell you, however, that the kettle corn and the melons were delicious!

Image of the Day

Blue Door
Last November I took a workshop for phone camera use. It was very enlightening. I love the immediacy and informality of taking pictures with my phone. I have a very basic phone - there is no "i" about it and it has no apps. I was intrigued to buy the micro SD to save the pictures on since it had a bigger capacity than my digital camera SD did then. After the class, we headed out to the streets of the South Side.
I have photographed the South Side on numerous occasions; actually the same doors and sidewalks we walked that day. What was different on this day was the new medium and the surprising quality available with it. I printed the pictures and exhibited them at The Garfield Artworks in January - nothing formal, quickly printed 5x7's thumbtacked to the walls to accompany the framed black and white photographs hung for the show.
The rest of the phone camera exhibit can be viewed in the flickr photostream.
