It was time to change the introductory picture with the change in the season.

Always an interesting day, this solstice stuff.

We now start to have longer light and before we know it,

we will be spring like! :)

Not soon enough for some folks, I am sure.

But our earth friends are resting and we can, too.

     During our Labor Day visit at the cabin in Potter County, PA, we exchanged an ancient, metal white bed with a modern day bed with trundle.  I had a lot of help having the bed placed in the field as an art piece.

   I remember the first Earth Day.  I was in high school and the bus I was on passed many of my enlightened teachers walking to school on the side of the road.  Mind you, there are no sidewalks in Fox Chapel, so I looked right down on the top of their very "close to the road" heads.  I suspect that I thought more highly of those I saw walking.
   Since then, I have volunteered to pick up litter in local areas and have generally tried to be kind to our Mother Earth.  Most often, Mother Earth has shown herself to me through trees.

Photo Walk with John Craig

Back sometime in 2009, I attended a blogging workshop led by John Craig at Silver Eye Center for Photography.  We have corresponded by Facebook and Blogs since then, but on Sunday, we saw each other for the first time since that two-day workshop.  John is kind, supportive and non-critical.  His workshops/walks are informative and he responds to every question with information that reflects the photographic understanding of the questioner.  For that, I am most appreciative.

His wife, Elizabeth, and he are wedding photographers.  Their website is http://www.elizabethcraigphotography.com/  There is an Email you can sign up for to peek at their latest fabulous works and learn more about their services and skills.  I recommend it highly as well as the blogs and John's work that can be found there.
