Still Haunted by Dolls

In August, 2016, I had a solo show at Pittsburgh Filmmakers under the auspices of the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.  Part of my exhibit was titled "Haunted by Dolls."  It contained photographs of dolls taken in antique malls in Maine and my personal collection of dolls, both gifted and inherited.  Since that event, I have continued to photograph the dolls I find in the most curious clothing and unlikely locations.

If you see an interesting doll scene or have one, please let me know.

Santas!

Oops!  I missed last week, but here is Santas! I have accumulated so many lovely ornaments during my Christmas seasons and enjoy each one.  A little trim here and there and it would make a great Christmas card .....

Pittsburgh Graffiti

You Know Who You Are!

ANOK

The Kid

Pittsburgh graffiti is an ever changing source of photographs and series for me.  Yinz is obviously a spray painted image from a cut-out.  ANOK is a personal expression and I hope I read the letters correctly.  I have photographed The Kid for several years as it appears in many neighborhoods.  Most now are looking pretty old, so I have to wonder if new ones are being done.  Other neighborhoods where The Kid has appeared are Bloomfield and the Strip District.  As I create a better collection of the graffiti series, I will try to define neighborhoods and similarities.  More in the flickr photostream.

Fashion News

Fashion News

Had an interesting shopping trip last October on Ellsworth Avenue in Shadyside. The retro clothing was fun, but why are the mannequins naked or dressed suggestively? I know they are inanimate objects, but if they were male mannequins, would they be naked or outfitted with a thong? Just asking!! More shots in the flickr photostream.

Image of the Week

Does anyone really know what time it is?

I love photographing the collections found in antique stores. This one is from Right Stuff in Coudersport, Potter County. Other collections I have spotted are keys, buttons and sassy little salt and pepper sets. Remember those? I am always looking for more collections to photograph, so contact me with any suggestions.
